Shortcuts For RealFlow 2012

This is a list with most important RealFlow 2012 user interface shortcuts. Some of the most common shortcuts have been omitted because they are easy to find. Some of the shortcuts have a focus, meaning this the user has to set the cursor onto the right place before pressing the key combination. This is typical for shortcuts like Alt+D that enables/disables the viewport. Normally it is needed to click on the viewport prior to press the keys. Used abbreviations for shortcuts are:
  • LMB - Left Mouse Button
  • RMB - Right Mouse Button
  • MMB - Middle Mouse Button
  • MMW - Middle Mouse Wheel

File Menu

  • CTRL+N - New project.
  • CTRL+O - Open project.
  • CTRL+R - Revert project.
  • CTRL+S - Save.
  • CTRL+SHIFT+S - Save as.
  • CTRL+SHIFT+U - Reload current frame.
  • CTRL+U - Update SD scene.
  • CTRL+SHIFT+I - Summary info.

Edit Menu

  • DEL- Delete the current selected element/elements.
  • CTRL+Z - Undo.
  • CTRL+Y - Redo.
  • W - Move mode.
  • E - Rotate mode.
  • R - Scale mode.
  • CTRL+D - Clone selected.
  • CTRL+B - Back culled selection.
  • CTRL+H - Set selected hidden.
  • CTRL+SHIFT+H - Set selected visible.
  • K - Add new Position, Rotation and Scale keyframe for selection.

Point of View

  • ALT+LMB - Orbit in the perspective view.
  • ALT+MMB - Pan.
  • ALT+RMB - Zoom

Node Parameters Panel

  • F1 - Current selected parameter help.
  • RMB - Subpanel help when clicking on the subpanel button.
  • RMB - Context and animating menu when clicking on the parameter.
  • LMB double click - Open animation curves for the parameter.
  • ALT + LMB double click - Add new keyframe for the parameter.

View Menu

  • 7 - Bounding box scene view.
  • 8 - Wire frame scene view.
  • 9 - Flat shaded scene view.
  • 0 - Smooth shaded scene view.
  • CTRL+ALT+F - Enable/Disable textured objects.
  • 1 - View top.
  • 2 - View front.
  • 3 - View side.
  • 4 - View perspective.
  • F - Fast view.
  • G - Show grid.

Layout Menu

  • CTRL+SHIFT+BACKSPACE - Clear messages window.
  • F2 - Launch a Single View panel.
  • F3 - Launch a Quad View panel.
  • F4 - Launch a Node panel.
  • F5 - Launch a Exclusive Links panel.
  • F6 - Launch a Global Links panel.
  • F7 - Launch a Node params panel.
  • F8 - Launch a Curve Editor panel.
  • F9 - Launch a message window panel.
  • F10 - Launch a Batch script panel.
  • CTRL+F2 - Launch the simulation events panel.
  • CTRL+F3 - Launch the movie player panel.
  • CTRL+F4 - Launch the job manager panel.
  • CTRL+F5 - Launch the help viewer panel.
  • CTRL+F6 - Launch a layers panel.

Export Menu

  • CTRL+E - Export All.
  • CTRL+SHIFT+E - Export None.
  • F12 - Launch Export Central.
  • ALT+U - Update Time Line Cache.

Adding elements to the scene

  • CTRL+1 - Emitters list to be added to the scene.
  • CTRL+2 - Daemons list to be added to the scene.
  • CTRL+3 - Object list to be added to the scene.
  • CTRL+4 - Hybrido list to be added to the scene.
  • CTRL+5 - Add a mesh to the scene.
  • CTRL+6 - Add a Real Wave surface to the scene.
  • CTRL+7 - Add a camera the scene.

Shading

  • D - Cycle shading mode.
  • ALT+D - Enable/Disable the viewports.
  • ALT+W - On a Quad View maximize/minimize current viewport.
  • SHIFT+V - Toggle to show particles arrows or points.

Selection

  • Q - Select mode.
  • LMB - Single selection.
  • RMB - Context pop up menu.
  • SHIFT+LMB - Multiple selection by drawing area, adds or substracts
  • particles to selection in the particle selection tool.

Simulation

  • A - Start/Stop action.
  • ESC - Stop action.
  • CTRL+A - Reset.
  • SPACE - Start/Stop play.
  • K - Creates a keyframe.
  • LEFT ARROW - Frame backward.
  • RIGHT ARROW - Frame forward.
  • DOWN ARROW - Frame begin.
  • UP ARROW - Frame end.

Curve Editor

Options shortcuts are available at any moment when the "Curve Editor" widget has focus. Edition shortcuts are related to the curve editing canvas.
Options
  • Alt+S - Set Range.
  • Alt+R - Reset view.
  • Alt+I - Load image.
  • Alt+C - Fit view.
  • Alt+H - Fit horizontal view.
  • Alt+V - Fit vertical view.
  • Alt+T - Show time.
  • Alt+F - Show frames.
  • BACKSPACE - Remove selected control points.
  • DEL - Remove selected control points.

 Edition
  • LMB double click - Create new control point at cursor position.
  • CMD+LMB - Create new control point at cursor position.
  • ALT+LMB - Zoom mode. If dragging control points, snap vertical and horizontal from original position.
  • RMB - Show context menu for current selection.
  • SHIFT+LMB - Multiple selection by drawing area.
